Imagine watching twelve artists going head to head in three 20-minute rounds to produce amazing one-of-a-kind paintings.
If this is something that calls to you, the Fort Erie Arts Council (FEAC) has just the event for you.
The FEAC is bringing back The Art Battle at The Sanctuary Centre for the Arts in downtown Ridgeway. The battle will take place Friday, March 1with two more following in April and June. This event highlights local artists and allows for spectator involvement.
The 12 artists will be divided into two groups for two battle rounds. They will choose their paints for the palette and dive into 20 minutes of competitive art; which the spectators will vote for the best piece.
The top two artists from each round will then go on to the third and final round, again the winner being determined by the spectators.
The winner will receive a cash prize and be eligible to compete in the regional finals held in the summer.
All the artworks will be auctioned off at the end of the night with the proceeds going back to the artists.
The doors will open at 7 p.m. Brimstone Brewery will be providing a beverage service during the event. Tickets are available in advance for $15 or $20 at the door and $10 for students.
