Passero was not pleased with the effort.
“Tonight was bad,” he said. It’s complete. It’s composure. It’s everything that we stand for; we did not get it for 60 minutes. We talk a lot here about the standard. Well, it’s just a buzzword unless you walk the walk. And I don’t think from the goaltender out to the coaches, we walked the walk.”
Passero said it is important that the Meteors turn the page while still remembering the lessons learned from the loss.
“We’ve been in this situation before, and it feels like the walls are closing in on us, but it’s junior hockey and we play two games next weekend,” he said. “I think we also have to bask in this situation of embarrassment. We got embarrassed on our home ice. They did things at the end of the game that they tried to embarrass us. We also need to remember things like that.
“It’s got to make us better this week, and I’m hoping that our leadership group that has won championships here can figure out where we’re going and go in the direction we need to be.”
