Single-vehicle collision causes life-threatening injuries

Members of the Niagara Regional Police, Niagara Emergency Medical Services and the Fort Erie Fire Department responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in front of 450 Garrison Road on April 12.

Police say an initial investigation revealed a 66-year-old woman from Port Colborne was driving a 2004 Toyota eastbound on Garrison Road. The driver lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and struck two utility poles.

The driver suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital before being flown to an out of region hospital in life threating condition.

This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit. Anyone with information is asked to call investigators at 905-688-4111 Ext. 5500.
