The Niagara Railway Museum, located in the former Canadian National Railway diesel locomotive shop in Fort Erie, hosted its Annual Rail Days event on September 12 & 13.

This yearly event, featuring all things related to local railway history, has become popular, drawing people from across Ontario and across the border.
This year’s event featured their newly painted locomotive in a custom, local railway-inspired paint scheme. In addition to the daytime displays, there was a special night photo opportunity, with some of the railway equipment outside and the lights on.
During the day, guests could get inside many pieces of equipment for a closer look. Elsewhere in the shop, the group continues working on their large 33’x13’ HO scale model railway, and also has displays from the Ontario Northland Railway Historical Society and a Lego train layout from one of the members.
The NRM is open Saturdays until October 3rd. Their next show is the Niagara Model Railway Show in St. Catharines on October 25th.
