The final service for Ridgeway’s beloved church will start at 10:00 am on Sunday, June 25, 2023.
Sharon Dell, a member of the congregation, shared, “We have asked both of our pastors, Pastor Isaac Flagg and Pastor Rob Collier, to take part in the service.”
She added, “Everyone is very sad about the closing, so this will not be a happy occasion. Some members have even expressed that they really don’t want to be there, but will attend.”
The church members are relieved to learn that the organ is still in good working order after enduring the flood and cold temperatures during the Christmas storm. Phil Coman, the church’s pianist/organist will be playing the organ during the service one last time.
Rick Doan will be ringing the church bell 151 times, representing the number of years the church has stood tall and central to its community. Photographer Joe Burd will be filming this moment. There will also be drone footage around the steeple at the time of the bell ringing.
Anyone wishing to attend the final service — see the church and listen to the organ one last time, and hear the bell ring 151 times — are welcome to attend.
