Fort Erie On-Demand Transit service begins October 4

FORT ERIE (September 24, 2021)

The Town of Fort Erie will be officially switching to On-Demand Transit (ODT) service from a fixed-route service, starting October 4, 2021.

“Switching from fixed-route service to on-demand service was done to provide residents a more flexible and convenient way to get to and from their destinations within Town boundaries. This new service will better serve the transportation needs of all residents and visitors. Once people try it, I’m convinced it will become second nature,” said Kelly Walsh, director of infrastructure services.

This new service gives riders the ability to request a ride through a new On-Demand Transit app (available for download at the Apple Store and Google Play), by boarding an ODT vehicle or by calling 1-833-BUS-LINE (287-5463).

The ODT service vehicle will pick up the rider and drop them off within the Fort Erie boundaries for $3 per ride. Riders may have to walk to the closet intersection or street crossing in order to board the vehicle.
