Fort Erie International Academy, which has sent dozens of players to university teams in Canada and NCAA schools in the U.S., won the Ontario Scholastic Basketball Association championship Sunday night, March 8, at Toronto’s Pan Am Sports Centre with a 64-62 win over defending champion Ridley College of St. Catharines.
Fort Erie guard Promis N’Landu, of Montreal, who will attend George Washington (D.C.) University next season, was the tournament MVP with 28 points. Caleb Roberts, of Chatham, had 25 for Ridley.
Calgary’s Deng Ngor had 10 for the Falcons, who will appear in the Canadian prep school championships March 23-29 in Toronto. They were national champs two years ago.
