She graduated from Ridgeway-Crystal Beach High School before going to Niagara College in Welland. After that, she moved to Toronto in 1989 and found a job in the law sector.
Now she is a stay at home mom with a blended family of seven children.
In 2017, Amy started doing triathlons. It was something that was always on her bucket list, but she wanted to have someone to do it with.
She met a friend, Trish Omeri, at the gym three years ago and now are in a fit club of mom friends.
Just like triathlon, when the opportunity arose for them to take on the Amazing Race, the two knew it was a great fit.
“Both our families watch the show,” De Domenico said. “And since we already race, it seemed like a logical step.”
When the teams were chosen for the competition, “It felt like winning the lottery,” she said.
“We are both small town girls – me from Ridgeway and Trish from Sudbury. We are beyond excited. Never in my life did I think this would happen. It’s one of those things that happens to other people, and we had to keep asking, are you sure?”
It’s also nice to be able to inspire others from small towns like ours. If it can happen to us then it can happen to anyone.”
