The Town of Fort Erie has received $200,000 through the Canada Community-Building Fund to support local infrastructure upgrades.

Town officials say the funding will be directed toward the 2026 sidewalk repair program, which will see approximately 1,800 metres of sidewalks rehabilitated across the community. The work is part of ongoing efforts to improve safety and accessibility for residents.

During construction, some temporary disruptions are expected. Residents may experience limited access to their driveways while new sidewalks are being installed. The Town and its contractors note they will make every effort to provide advance notice to those affected.
