Individuals who cannot work from home and are in group one can get vaccinated The Provincial vaccination portal is open to those who cannot work from home and those who are a part of group one. These individuals include: -Elementary and secondary school workers -Workers responding to critical events -Enforcement, inspection and compliance roles -Remaining individuals working in licensed childcare settings -Foster care agenda workers -Food manufacturing and distribution workers -Agriculture and farm workers -Funeral, crematorium and cemetery workers Eligible residents can book an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination online through the Provincial portal at Ontario.ca/bookvaccineor by calling the Provincial booking system at 1-833-943-3900. Temporary Outdoor Patio Program The Town of Fort Erie Temporary Outdoor Patio Program is intended to support local eating establishments by providing flexibility while at the same time ensuring health and safety standards remain in place. Applicants wishing to establish a new temporary outdoor patio or temporarily expand an existing outdoor patio must complete and submit an application prior to approval. National Nursing Week This week May 10-16 marks National Nursing Week. The theme this year is #WeAnswerTheCall and was developed by the Canadian Nurses Association to showcase the many roles that nurses play in a patient’s healthcare journey. Take the time this week to recognize the special nurse in your life and thank them. Canada’s Digital Skills for Youth Program The Government of Canada’s Digital Skills for Youth Program is offering 50% grant funding up to $15,000 to hire a post-secondary graduate for an environment-focused position requiring digital abilities. Applicants must be 15-30 years old, a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a refugee, that is unemployed, underemployed, or working part-time. If you or someone you know is a student aged 15-29 that is interested in running a business of their choice over the summer, the Ontario Summer Company program is offering successful recipients a $3,000 start-up grant along with business training and mentorship from local business leaders. Students must be in high school, college or university, and must be returning to school when the program ends.
