337 “Allan Troup” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron held its Annual Cadet Review on June 6 at the Fort Erie Leisureplex, celebrating another year of achievement, leadership, service and personal growth by local youth.
The Annual Cadet Review is one of the Squadron’s signature events, providing families, friends and community members with an opportunity to see cadets recognized for their accomplishments throughout the year. For many cadets, the ceremony marks the culmination of months of training, parade nights, instruction, community involvement and leadership development.
In recognition of the Royal Canadian Legion’s centenary, Branch 71 President Murray Morlog served as the Reviewing Officer for the event.
Among those in attendance were MP Fred Davies, MPP Wayne Gates, and Fort Erie Mayor Wayne Redekop. Each spoke of their pride in the young men and women of the Squadron and commended them for their commitment to service, leadership and citizenship.
Addressing the cadets, Davies said, “What an amazing demonstration. I tip my hat to all of you. Most importantly, you are the future of our country. We are depending on you. You are the leaders of tomorrow.”
The ceremony also highlighted several significant honours earned by members of the Squadron.
Warrant Officer First Class Caleb Browne was awarded the BGen. B. Roberts Shield as Ontario’s Top Air Cadet for 2025-2026, which is one of the most prestigious honours available within the Air Cadet program.
Additional honours were also presented during the review. Warrant Officer Second Class Tanner Robertson received the Sir Douglas Bader Battle of Britain Sword as the top Niagara-area warrant officer. The award was presented by Major (Ret’d) Greenwood of 484 Wing.
Flight Sergeant Aspen-Rose Tyler received the Murray Whetung Ontario Community Service Award in recognition of outstanding community service and dedication to helping others.
Surrounded by family, friends and supporters, the cadets were applauded for a year of hard work, discipline and achievement, reflecting the strong tradition of excellence that continues within 337 “Allan Troup” Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron.
Sponsored by the Lions Club of Fort Erie since 1943, 337 Squadron has been part of the community for more than eight decades.
337 Squadron will begin accepting new recruits aged 12 to 14 in September 2026. Part of the broader Canadian Cadet Program, Royal Canadian Air Cadets is open to youth aged 12 to 18 and focuses on leadership, citizenship, physical fitness and aviation-related training. The program gives young people opportunities to build confidence, develop life skills, and explore interests ranging from aerospace studies to flying and aircrew survival.
